With Charlie Hales and Eileen Brady's TV campaign ads already on the tube, Jefferson Smith's campaign finally released their first ad this morning. No, this one doesn't contain any Portlandia references or pothole paving promises.

Smith takes a humble approach, dodging any reference to his past accomplishments in the legislature, a tactic both Hales and Brady focused on in their pitches. He spends the short ad thanking the folks who got him to where he is today, including all of Portland. While thanking people is nice, I'm guessing this is a precursor to a more detailed, policy-driven ad.
