Urban Art Network has teamed up with Legendary Makers Market to present Picnic in the Pearl, a special all-day edition of First Thursday.

Listen, America may not be worth celebrating right at the moment (is it ever?), but a day off from the capitalistic grind sure is. We’ve got an absolutely stacked weekend guide for ya, so at least your holiday won’t be as bleak as our future. Read on for events from Picnic in the Pearl to the Waterfront Fireworks display and from Independence Day Extravaganza & Merica’ Night: Portland Pickles Doubleheader to Portland Mercury’s Summer of Slushies.

First Thursday Picnic Party
Bask on Hapa Barkada and Below by Botanist’s all-ages patio while inhaling a finger-lickin’-good barbecue ribs plate that mashes up American comfort staples with Filipino flavors, complete with island barbecue ribs, bibingka cornbread, and mac and cheese lumpia. Plus, cool off with frosty treats from Fusion Shave Ice and enjoy a DJ lineup and cocktails from Below by Botanist. JULIANNE BELL
