FRIDAY

FILM

Absolute Beginners // Sade Island DJ Night & Record Sales
Julien Temple’s 1986 film Absolute Beginners has all the ingredients for a cinematic masterpiece: an iconic theme song, elaborate dance sequences, opulent costumes, and cameos from musical royalty David Bowie and Sade. However, the film ultimately falls short with its superficial social commentary and a lack of narrative depth. But while the film might be style over substance, damn, is it stylish! Stop by PAM CUT’s Tomorrow Theater for a special screening of the forgotten cult classic. Arrive early to catch a Sade and Bowie-centric DJ set from Donal Mosher and a pop-up record shop from Prospector Records. AUDREY VANN
