The Most Strange Telephone and Other Memories: a Release Reading
As someone who loves both photography and talking on the phone, I am very intrigued by Portland artist Leslie Hickey’s new book, The Most Strange Telephone and Other Memories. Stop by the IPRC this Friday for a free event where the artist will give a short reading and explain the process behind the creation of the book, which pairs “solicited telephone memories” with photographs. Often working on years-long series, Hickey is a member of Portland’s 2024/2025 Outer Voice Alliance, a collective of time-based artists. SHANNON LUBETICH
