This week, we’re saying goodbye to 2024 and hello to a new year. If you’re resolving to get out more, we’ve got you covered with events from New Year’s Eve Downtown to Oregon State Parks’ First Day Hike 2025 and from a screening of From Ground Zero to Portland’s Public Menorah.

New Year’s Concert in Portland – Beethoven’s Ninth
If you’re like me and committed to having a Little Women Winter™, ditch the rowdy New Year’s Eve parties in favor of a peaceful concert of 19th-century classical tunes. The Oregon Symphony ends the year on an optimistic note (literally) with a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and the Scottish classic “Auld Lang Syne.” Members of the Oregon Repertory Singers, Portland State University Chamber Choir, and Pacific Youth Choir alumni will join.
