LIVE MUSIC

Beethoven Symphony No. 6
Ludwig van Beethoven’s lush Symphony No. 6 (aka Pastoral Symphony) paints a musical picture of the Austrian countryside with strings and wind instruments that evoke singing birds, rushing streams, and panoramic thunderstorms. Basically, it’s the perfect soundtrack for the dawn of spring. The Oregon Symphony will perform the piece alongside kindred seasonally appropriate works, Ralph Vaughan-Williams’ The Lark Ascending and Tan Dun’s Passacaglia: Secret of Wind and Birds. AUDREY VANN
(Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, South Park Blocks)
