It doesn’t require a crushing serve like tennis or Marty Supreme-level focus like ping-pong—with an easy point of entry, the world is cottoning on to this fun pastime. Tons of leagues have popped up around Portland, there are pickleball social clubs and LGBTQ nights, and the World Pickleball Tour even made a stop here last August. The Portland metro area is home to a growing number of climate-controlled indoor venues, and outdoor courts are scattered in parks across the city and suburbs for weather-permitting play. Read on for a list of local spots to play pickleball, make some friends in the community, and get your dink on!

Jumbo’s Pickleball
Owned by lifelong Portlander Roshan Fernando, Jumbo’s is named for his hall-of-fame tennis player father, who got his nickname from the elephants in his home country of Sri Lanka. The first iteration of Jumbo’s opened in an old soccer facility in Beaverton in early 2024 and later that year, they expanded the operation to a second location at the Lloyd Center. Fear not Jumbo’s fans, although Lloyd has announced a closing date this summer, the pickleball facility will stay open on the third floor. One of the hottest spots for dinks in town, Jumbo’s has eight indoor courts, social nights, and options for all skill-levels from easy-going afternoon sessions to more competitive league play.
