It's always a bummer when I have to announce the closure of a boutique, but it's an absolute joy to celebrate when a local shop rounds the corner of another year in business. Such is the case with N Mississippi's Jet, featuring the in-house line by Jennifer Thomas, which is awesome for well-made basic pieces from tees to dresses to the coziest leggings in, possibly, the world. The party, on Friday (Oct 7, at 7 pm) will feature a runway show, music, and shopping, and will take place in the shop's newly opened production space, known as "The Hangar," just down the street from the shop, at 911 N Monroe. Stop in to congratulate them on their success, and for creating garment production jobs in Portland!
