Two down, two to go: The four-night FashioNXT 2015 series is half over, and with the weekend upon us both ticket prices and star power are on the upswing.

Things kicked off on Wednesday with the China Moment showcase, a curious partnership in which Portland plays host to collections from designers hailing from Shenzhen. It's not clear what if anything is the goal of this collaboration (though if a Portland retailer wanted to pick up CC's brilliant red, floral adorned cape or some of Song Hong's sumptuous all-beige cashmere, I'd not complain), but the clothing on display for the night certainly made for a well-crafted display.

First out was CC, which heavily featured peonies, the Chinese national flower:

In contrast, the next collection, With Song, was both more casual and more scattered, featuring playful looks that at times veered into too-infantile territory but which also featured some great sweaters with keyhole and bow details at the nape.

Third and last was Song Hong, the only designer to return from last year's inaugural China Moment showcase and trafficking in nothing but beige cashmere (okay, so there was also a little fur), which sounds monotonous but lulled me into lounge mode in the very best way.
