—Vintage lovers, add another address to your hunting route: Velvet Goldmine has just opened shop at 5923 SE Foster, with what appears to be a tendency toward embroidered pieces from around the world. Just the sort of thing to capture your inner traveling bohemian, even if you’re going nowhere fast.

Nationale and Portland Garment Factory are cooking up something interesting together. The “Big Shirt,” pop-up will run at the French-centric shop/gallery from April 22-26, with a “special event” planned for the evening of the 23rd. Stay tuned for the forthcoming details.

—It’s time again for the release of a new Karl vonBuck collection, with a launch party planned for Thurs April 16 (7-9 pm) at the SE Division location of Adorn. Designers Barbara Seipp and Kate Troedsson say to expect their signature denim as well as lightweight sheer fabrics, and a “vibrant optic floral print.”

Mandy Zelinka is best known as a hair stylist, and now she’s parlaying her years spent having style-related conversations with clients into the launch of an eponymous line of leather bags. The oversize clutches and shoulder bags are meant to be laptop, cycling, and commute-friendly, with custom orders being taken for summer ’15.

Fetch Eyewear works hand in hand with the Pixie Project, with 100% of their corporate profits going to the organization that rescues and re-homes cats and dogs (if you know how to have a good time, you’ve probably taken at least one spin through their cattery). If you’re in the market for designer prescription eyewear (shades too), Fetch intentionally keeps the markup low (most pairs are around $100)—all the easier to support the cause and score your face’s most important accessory. The new spring catalog is out now, just in time for your sun protection re-up.

Machus and photographer Ill Gander set out to make a lookbook that doesn’t just highlight the store’s newest merch: “We pulled some of our favorite items from around the store and threw together a few alternate looks. A lot of pieces in here that we would consider ‘sleepers’—the best of the best that gets overlooked.” See the whole thing here.
