On Thursday, August 16, Deschutes Brewery is hosting their third annual Street Fare, which is like a Street Fayre, but less Renaissancey. Actually, it's a block party with great food and music, all going to benefit Loaves and Fishes, which brings meals to homebound seniors. The street in front of Deschutes' Pearl District pub (NW Davis and 11th) will be shut down as food vendors ply their wares, paired with specific Deschutes brews. Vendors include: Oregon Ice Works, PDX671, Prickly Ash, the Pie Spot, BAO PDX, Gonzo, and Touch Down's BBQ.

And there's music: Fruit Bats will be on hand to play golden summertime jams, along with Lewi Longmire and the Left Coast Roasters and Sneakin' Out, who, together, tilt this year's musical offerings into hippie territory. But it's been a short while since Portland's had a Fruit Bats show—it was nice to see frontman Eric Johnson emceeing at Pickathon this weekend—and they're always great, so here's looking forward to another great Street Fair. I mean, Fare.

Nits and grits: It all happens on Thursday, August 16 from 5-9 pm at NW Davis between 10th and 11th. It's $10 to get in, which includes a food-and-beer combo taster. Additional tasters are $4.
