GOOD MORNING, PORTLAND! Don't break out the sunglasses just yet. Today it'll be cloudy and drizzly, and you can expect a high of 49 and a low of 39, with sunshine headed our way tomorrow.

IN LOCAL NEWS:

• TriMet is proposing route changes that could improve its most unreliable bus line, while keeping Cleveland High School students away from one of Portland’s most dangerous streets.

• As the transit agency tries to fix its routes, Oregon lawmakers are trying to fix the state’s housing crisis, starting with rent prices. Legislators are considering heavier limits to the state’s rent control caps.

• In other schools-adjacent news, Lake Oswego police arrested a Centennial School District vice principal, among others, in a sex sting operation.

• Check out a gazillion things to do this week, from the genre-bending, indie outfit Tortoise at Revolution Hall, and a community talk about psychedelics (not that kind of talk), to David Spade, movie Jeopardy, and lots of local hip hop with this week's EverOut lineup

• If you do check out a show and you plan to drive, make sure to remove those studded tires first! The deadline is March 31.

• ChatGPT isn’t just the software replacing writers, answering customer service questions, and helping students cheat on essays. Despite its infamy for spitting out wrong or misguided answers, one man put it to work when his dog got sick, and says the results helped save the dog’s life. So move over, doctors and veterinarians! The robots are coming for your jobs, too!

IN NATIONAL/WORLD NEWS:

• Seven people were killed Monday (including the suspect) in yet another school shooting, this time in Nashville. The deadly shooting spree claimed the lives of three 9-year-olds and three adults at a private Presbyterian school. That makes for more mass shootings in the United States so far this year, than days.

• A fire at a migrant holding center on the U.S.-Mexico border killed at least 39 people.

• Protests continue across France over the government's move to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64, citing the need to balance the country's budget. French leaders used special powers to make the change without a vote by parliament.

• And finally... put the cats to work!
