GOOD MORNING, PORTLAND!đ
Yesterday's rainy weather (which tried and failed to put a damper on Portland's Emergency World Naked Bike Ride) will taper off today and eventually reveal sunny weather for the next couple of days, with highs hitting temps of around 65. (Oh, and lest I forget to mention it later, fuck Christopher Columbus and stop celebrating colonizers.) And now, get ready for some butt-ass nekkid NEWS.
IN LOCAL NEWS:
⢠Speaking of the Emergency World Naked Bike Rideâdesigned to promote body positivity, bring attention to the world's reliance on fossil fuels, AND (in this case) protest against the racist kidnappings and deportations of immigrants by ICE and the current administrationâit happened yesterday, chilly rain be damned. Our Suzette Smith followed them along to the ICE facility, where they were met with the cheers heroes deserve. Check out the video (and our story later today)!

⢠The Trump administration is getting increasingly desperate as their lies about "war ravaged" Portland and other blue cities are being ridiculed by practically everyone (who isn't a gullible MAGAt, of course). And so, in response, ICE and federal agents are cranking up the violence, lashing out like a tantrum-thowing child in Portland and beyond. Saturday night at the Portland ICE facility was the most violent in months, as agents repeatedly attacked, gassed, and fired pepper balls at peaceful protestersâwho, according to those with eyes, did nothing to deserve this treatment (other than dressing up like inflatable frogs and other whimsical creatures). Kevin Foster was covering the protest for the Mercury, calling it the "worst Iâve ever seen. More pepper balls than I can count. Teargas in the middle of crowd. Violent arrests." Agents also reportedly had rubber bullet shotguns that were "aimed at protesters chests/heads at near point blank range." They shot at least one local actual journalist (not the right-wing liars who are pretending to be reporters) in the arm with a rubber bullet. Violence perpetrated by federal agents has also been escalating in Chicago (where a journalist was knocked down and arrested), and in Memphis where agents are joining the cops in issuing traffic citations in order to snatch up immigrants (whether they are US citizens or not).Â
Federal agents in Portland shoved a protester to the ground and then fired pepper balls at another as they tried to help.Â
Safe to describe this as unnecessary force as they cleared the driveway.

⢠Oh! And reminder to get your ass up and out for this coming weekend's No Kings March in Portland on October 18. It's gonna be a banger!
⢠Meanwhile, still no word from the somewhat "skeptical" panel of 9th Circuit Court judges on whether they'll overrule Portland's current temporary restraining order (TRO) which is keeping National Guard troops out of the city. However, since the TRO will be need to be renewed this Friday, you can most likely expect a decision this week from the panel that consists of two Trump appointeesâwho seem to be signaling that it's okay for their employer to do just about whatever he wantsâand one Clinton appointee.Â
⢠In case you're wondering what tactics our anti-ICE fam in Chicago are using to keep their people safe, here ya go:
Whistling when ICE is about to kidnap someone for no reason is incredibly effective. They know what they are doing is wrong and will scatter in the wind when too many witnesses gather.

⢠Congrats to the Seattle Mariners who beat the Toronto Blue Jays in a nail-biting 3-2 win in game one of baseball's American League Championship Series. Game two kicks off tonight.
Hey smarty pants! đ¤ It's time for another super sassy POP QUIZ PDX. In this week's fun trivia quiz: Trump humiliates himself twice, local antifa cops & judges, and a visit from "ICE, ICE Barbie!" See how well YOU score!

IN NATIONAL/WORLD NEWS:
⢠Under the terms of a ceasefire deal, Israel reportedly released 1,968 Palestinian prisoners and detainees today in exchange for 20 living hostages from Hamasâwho is also expected to release the bodies of 28 additional hostages who died during the conflict. Unsurprisingly Trump squealed that "the war is over," even though multiple ceasefires between Israel and Hamas have failed since the conflict began, and tens of thousands of Palestinians have been murdered by military forces over the last two years.
After discovering surprising details about her own familyâs history, Gabriann "Abby" Hall decided to focus on researching and telling the story of federal Native American boarding school policy. Today, on Indigenous Peoples Day, she speaks at Central Oregon Community College in Bend.

⢠King Fool's Friday night "massacre"âin which he fired thousands of federal workers to punish Democrats for trying to protect the healthcare of all Americansâhas already blown up in his swollen face, and his administration has been forced to rehire hundreds of scientists that worked at the CDC. Officials are trying to blame the "accidental" firings on "a glitch in the system,â which I suppose can be translated to "it was because of a tinpot autocrat's rash campaign of retribution and stupidity."
⢠Today in "Wow... I wonder how this could've happened?": "U.S. consumers bearing more than half the cost of tariffs so far."
⢠Stay on the lookout this week as the Supreme Court hears a lawsuit from Republicans who are once again attempting to disenfranchise Black voters. Lawyers for Louisiana and the Trump administration are targeting the Voters Right Act in an attempt to wipe out a heavily Black district in the state so that Republicans can hold on to their slim majority in the House of Representatives.Â
⢠And finally... if frog costumes aren't your preferred method of clowning on ICE, here's another excellent example of "THE CHICAGO WAY."
