Who’s that peeking out of the cabinet?

Why, it’s Colin Meloy!

The lead singer of the Decemberists has just been added to the already bursting lineup of tonight’s Cabinet of Wonders show at Mississippi Studios. Colin Meloy will join musicians John Wesley Harding and Lucy Wainwright Roche, comedian Eugene Mirman, and authors Monica Drake and Marc Acito for a night of, umm…. music, comedy and stuff?

I’ll let Eugene Mirman describe it: “I dunno. I think whatever you’re thinking is what it’s going to be. It will be a silly/literary/vaudeville-y event.”

So it’s that. And Mr. December(ist) himself will be on board! Will he be plucking and singing, as he usually does? Will he be comedy-ing? Perhaps some of the old soft shoe and some story-song folktelling! Perhaps something from the new Decemberists’ epic The Hazards of Love, done acoustic, with other performers in the Cabinet playing the other roles?

2 shows! Early show at 7, late (blue) show at 10. Mississippi Studios, 3939 N Mississippi, $17

End Hits: Just don’t ask what’s in our Cabinet of Wonder. Trust us, you don’t want to know.
