Dude, where’s your band? Clearing not wanting to share free clothes with anyone else, “The Shins” (or just James Mercer in a Levi’s western shirt) respected the brand and recorded a cover of Squeeze’s “Goodbye Girl” for this Levi’s Pioneer session. Even if it involves a corporate jeans company, I’m of the opinion that anytime Squeeze gets attention, it’s a good thing. The session also features a video, so you can watch Mercer in the studio and discuss the influence of Squeeze.

+1 Anything Squeeze
+1 Squeeze, but -1 James Mercer
Does this mean that hipsters will now be on to how good Squeeze was? Or did they already know?
Why not just use Squeeze’s version? I’m sure they could use the money.
This is my most favoritest Squeeze song ever ever ever.
Nothing beats the real Squeeze. But, modern bands and hipsters will hopefully learn something from this.
Mercer’s version is satisfactory, I should say.
