[Arthur Bradford is the Mercury's Blazer correspondent as well as an accomplished Portland filmmaker (How's Your News?, 6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park). What follows is the second installment of his short documentary series—this one shot during the downtown Portland protests this past Thursday, June 4. Watch part one here.—eds]

This is the second in what will most likely be a series of short documentaries about Portland's protests against police brutality. I’m especially interested in the conversations and arguments I see happening between protestors and the police who speak with them. I fully understand that what I’ve captured here is just a slice of the story and I seem to have been lucky (or unlucky, depending on your perspective) to have missed much of the tear gas and flash bombs which have come at the conclusion of some of these nights. I’m going back this week and will do my best to capture some of that as well. Stay tuned for part three.
