A wet and joyous celebration yesterday for our returning heroes, the Portland Timbers who led a packed parade and rally at Providence Park. Read all about the fun with a recap from our own Abe Asher!
This flood situation has caused a lot of woes, including a SE woman killed by a fallen tree, sewage pumping into the streets, 30,000 without power, and people trapped in their cars by water. BUT THE END MAY BE IN SIGHT.
Needless to say, public transportation this morning is a bit of a nightmare. If you haven’t left the house yet, check for delays.
Here’s your “Mom of the Year”: An Oregon City woman has been arrested after ordering her 9-year-old to steal packages off people’s porches.
President Obama asks Congress to enact legislation that would stop gun sales to those on the no-fly list—but according to many (even on the left) that list is bullshit.
German chancellor Angela Merkel has been named Time‘s Person of the Year—the first woman since 1986.
BUSTED! Greenpeace exposes “skeptics for hire” who were happily paid to cast doubt on the climate change debate.

I saw that article about the ‘skeptics for hire’ several places yesterday, but I still don’t understand it. Would it be hard to find people willing to write papers SUPPORTING climate change?
Isn’t writing papers for money something that people do?

Gee, what possible incentive is there to be heavily invested in the unfalsifiable, woo-woo religion of anthropogenic global warming? I mean other than the rapid and massive expansion of government centralization and power, as well as a huge new source of speculation on Wall Street …
So according to you WSH, people are cowards for wanting to be able to defend themselves if the unthinkable should happen? I don’t agree. I think it is prudent. The vast majority of the guns will never be used for this purpose. But it is comforting to know that IF you ever need a gun to defend yourself, you can.
