I wrote a big feature on Portland podcasting this week, and listened to lots and lots and lots of podcasts for it. But I definitely didn’t listen to ALL of the podcasts produced in Portland—lots of shows slipped through the cracks, due to time constraints or because I just didn’t know about ’em. So if you create or listen to a local show that’s not mentioned in the piece, please drop it in the comments on the article! I hope the whole piece, comments ‘n’ all, will turn into a good master list of local shows.
The spot-on art for the article, BTW, was created by Thomas James, creator of locally based illustration podcast Escape from Illustration Island. SYNERGY!

HOW DARE YOU NOT MENTION MY PODCAST WITH 15 LISTENERS THAT ONLY GETS UPDATED ONCE EVERY TWO MONTHS?!?!?
YOU OMITTED MY PODCAST ON PURPOSE!!!
Gosh I just… love you guys.
Thanks (Robert) for mentioning audio quality. I cringe every year when SXSW comes around because podcast audio quality on some podcasts goes out the window for two weeks.
Podcasters:
It is great you landed at interview with Person X for your podcast, but the background noise of the coffeeshop/event you recorded it at makes me shut it off after a minute.
Speaking of which, Tom Scharpling did a great podcast spoof awhile back, bad audio and all:

WE TROLL BECAUSE WE CARE, ALISON.
Callie Uleners and I make a podcast about aliens, diseases, and horse news. I think our audio quality is pretty good and you might like it.

Honestly the only two podcasts I listen to are Joe Rogan and Jay Mohr. Rogan actually has great guests, and is often clearly stoned which is occasionally funny. I will check out the locals again, but the last time I did that (last year) the 3 or so that I listened to were pretty bad, no offense.
@humanclock: Same thing happens with Comicon. Pretty much every pop-geek podcast this week sounds like shit, with crowd noise and hoarse hosts.
I haven’t updated my podcast in a while…but here it is!
