The Mercury's Endorsement Strike Force answered a bunch of pressing questions this week, when we issued our definitive list of endorsements on the most important local races.

But as we noted in the piece, there was one riddle even we could not crack: Whether state treasurer and mayoral candidate Ted Wheeler (whom we did not endorse) looks most like an "old Owen Wilson," the present-day George McFly from the end of Back to the Future, or Editor-in-Chief Wm.™ Steven Humphrey's father in law.

We've been at each other's throats about this pretty much since the endorsement interview, but we're no closer to a definitive answer.

Wheeler knows what he wants...

...but he's clearly got a dog in the fight.

So we bring the question to you, Blogtown. Who does Wheeler most resemble? (HIT THE JUMP for more on your choices.)

First, let's get up to speed. Here's a random video of Wheeler on the campaign trail (before he recently made the change to bolder specs):

Now, the candidates.

Here's the best pic Managing Editor Erik Henriksen could find to make his case for "old Owen Wilson."

EDIT: Erik made a huge mistake, he says, in telling me which picture he wanted on this post. He sent me three, then said:

I posted the second pic he sent, and now he's fuming because I did not divine that he was only "joking" about one. Weird guy, and very wrong.

Here's his do-over photo.

Here's a video of all of Crispin Glover's lines as George McFly in Back to the Future. The most Wheeler-esque moments begin at the 5-minute mark, when we're... back to the future, and George McFly, having vanquished Biff decades before, has an air of moneyed elan.

And here's Editor-in-Chief Wm.™ Steven Humphrey's father-in-law, Ford. (Yup, FORD.)

Consider carefully, Blogtown. The fate of the Mercury lies in your hands.
