Before you know it, Valentine's Day propaganda is going to be creeping into your periphery. If you're happily, amorously attached to one (or more) persons, it's NBD. You can collectively choose to do or not do anything to celebrate the heavily commercialized, arguably meaningless designated Day of Love. But for many people, this is among the most dreaded of dates on the calendar. The unhappily single and lonely among us tend to resent the obnoxious reminder that some people are happily dating/co-habitating/being married* while they trudge ahead paying the full price of rent.

This year, while the love bugs get busy planning their fancy dinners and sexcapades, there's a pretty great option for the unattached: Unlucky in Love: A Pre-Valentine's Pity Party with Dan Savage is going to be one of the very first events held at Revolution Hall, on Friday, Feb 13 (8 pm, $25, 18+). A live taping of the top-rated Savage Lovecast, Dan will answer sex-related questions from the audience, along with "sexperts," and together they, and you, will ruin (and rescue) Valentine's Day**!

* Of course, plenty of people are unhappily doing those things, too.
** You'll notice that it's not on V-Day proper, which means if you do have lovey dovey plans with your shmoopy whoopy, you can do both... just no gloating or excessive PDAs, please.
