It was reported today that one of my favorite movie actors in the whole world, Bob Hoskins, is retiring from acting to be with his family. He's been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and this is all very, very sad.

I love Bob Hoskins dearly, and I said so here and here. Those articles were meant to be goofy, but they came from a place of sincere affection. Here's wishing Hoskins a happy and healthy retirement, and you should probably watch The Long Good Friday and Mona Lisa again sometime very soon—this weekend, perhaps.

In the meantime, here's a very English TV commercial (or as the Brits say, "advert") for something called a "cooker," which apparently is an oven. I don't know what the hell Hoskins is saying, but I love it very much.
