Heads up, Portlanders! It's not the prostitutes and crackdealers on Burnside you should be watching out for in the late hours of your Friday night. It's those dangerous huggers! University of Portland grad Patrick Geraghty was having a fun evening out, when suddenly, while standing outside of Marathon Tavern, the hugger struck.

The lawsuit describes the bear hug attack in detail: “without warning, [Brian Yoakum] clutched [Geraghty] in a ‘bear hug’ and twisted [Geraghty's] body after securing said hold.” The lawsuit also claims Geraghty broke his right foot as a result of the hug. The lawsuit seeks $75,000 for medical bills and lost wages, plus $500,000 for pain and suffering.
