This morning I made fun of virtual Twitter, but thanks to reader Martin we can bring you: Virtual Trimet! This animation of TriMet’s trips over the course of one day was put together using all the open source data on TriMet stops and boardings that the agency makes public. Also, it kind of looks like sperm. Enjoy! TriMet! TriMet! TriMet!

Sarah Shay Mirk reported on transportation, sex and gender issues, and politics at the Mercury from 2008-2013. They have gone on to make many things, including countless comics and several books.

  1. @Reymont, I guess your sperm isn’t smart enough to travel within a grid. Good luck with the procreation. Your sperm will be off wandering around in Forest Park while mine will be efficiently venturing through the most populated areas of town, servicing everybabe.
