There's a new community radio station in town—Freeform Portland is now broadcasting live at 90.3 FM. The station is run entirely by local volunteers who deejay 24/7, commercial-free radio for the people of Portland. Freeform's website says,

"Freeform radio is a programming format in which the DJ is given total control over what to play, regardless of music genre or commercial interests. Freeform radio stands in contrast to most commercial radio stations where DJs have little or no influence over programming structure or playlists."

Freeform's transmitter is in the Alberta neighborhood of Northeast, with a listening radius of about five miles. That means it might get a little fuzzy if you're down in Sellwood, Southwest, or Outer Southeast, but you can also listen online at Freeform's live stream.
