HOT DAMN! The number-one best thing happening at any movie theater tonight is the Grindhouse Film Festival’s “Grindhouse Trailer Spectacular: Greatest Hits.” Here’s what we wrote in My, What a Busy Week!

FILMโ€”Tonight, Dan Halstedโ€”head programmer at the Hollywood Theatreโ€”cracks open his vault of insanity to unleash the always jaw-dropping Grindhouse Trailer Spectacular… a lineup of the very best of his 35mm grindhouse trailer collection! Expect blaxploitation, hicksploitation, kung fu, horror, and a whole lot of mind-blowing clips, taglines, and voiceovers, all drenched in the cinematic ooze of the ’70s and ’80s. EH
Hollywood Theatre, 4122 NE Sandy, 7:30 pm, $8

It’s been a while since there was one of these grindhouse trailer programs at the Hollywood; as anyone who’s attended one can gleefully attest, they are fantastic. There’ll be jaw-dropping trailers for all sorts of stuff, including this one for the amazing The Black Samurai, starring the late, great Jim Kelly. BEHOLD:

Jim Kelly! Anyway, I’ve got a pair of tickets to give away for tonightโ€”to enter to win ’em, email me no later than 1 pm today, and make sure the subject of your email is “D.R.A.G.O.N.” I’ll pick a winner at around 1, and email them back to let them know they’ve won. That’s it! Have at!
