Good morning, Ebola news! A child in NYC who recently returned from West Africa has been taken to the hospital for tests after developing a fever. Meanwhile, an American doctor who survived Ebola is calling New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s 21-day mandatory quarantine for returning health workers tantamount to a “police state.” (Christie has agreed to release one nurse who tested negative for the virus, after receiving pressure from the White House.) Meanwhile in New York, they’ve eased off their strict rules for health workers returning from West Africa—especially those who had no contact with infected patients.
According to reports, terrorist group Boko Haram have been using kidnapped women and teenagers as shields on the front line of their attacks. They’re also kidnapping more girls, apparently to keep up with demand.
