As the right-wing tantrums over Obama nominating a new Supreme Court Justice begin, let us not forget the last time this was done during an election year: In 1988, when St. Reagan nominated Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.
That’s right, St. Reagan did this very thing, but because Obama’s the president, the right will make it into “the people need to have a voice” controversy to stall the process. Talk about being spoiled little babies.
Let also not forget, for all of you so-called “constitutionalist” out there: Supreme Court justices are NOMINATED by the PRESIDENT as stated in the CONSTITUTION.
I don’t know who disgusts me more, the right-wing politicians who spew this crap, or their ignorant, hateful and uneducated followers who swallow it.
This country is definitely fucked, but it ain’t for the bumper sticker reasons the racist white folk say.
