Found Footage Festival Volume 11
Comedians Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher are the purveyors of some of the most ridiculous found footage known to man. Since launching their festival in 2004, they claim to have sifted through more than 14,000 forgotten VHS tapes, uncovering video gems, some that have never made it onto the internet. The hosts present these clips in a Mystery Science Theater 3000-esque format, adding hilarious commentary and context along the way. Many of the videos come from the Midwest public-access television of the hosts’ childhoods, and this new collection comes with trigger warnings for nudity, language, and clowns. Among the highlights are a “psychotic” dollar-store salesman, a video catalog of frightening porcelain dolls, and two homemade Bigfoot videos. Pickett and Prueher have spent years combing the archives to rescue these gloriously terrible and bizarre videos from obscurity. For that, we salute them. BRI BREY
