In my experience, April Fools jokes are usually flops. Dumb flops, hokey flops, jokes about the Metro agenda that make only wonks snicker.

But Cornelius Swart at the Portland Sentinel spotted this legitimately hilarious April Fools prank up in North Portland:

The jokesters slapped up fake signs on a couple other Portland roads, christening “Rowdy Piper Ave” and “Jamie Escalante Ave” (pictures below the cut). What’s the pattern here, people?!

  1. There SHOULD be a Rowdy Piper Ave.

Why can’t that guy move back and make an ill-advised run for mayor? Worked for Jesse Ventura.

  2. “I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I’m all out of bubble gum!”

Guess what came next…. That’s right, some ass-kickin’.
