As someone who worked for one of the largest web advertising companies in the world during the 2007-2008 election cycle I think this is awesome. Everyone, from the McCain campaign to mayoral campaigns, either had no clue that advertising on the web could be so targeted and so effective, or they were so stuck in their old TV/Radio no targetting mindset. It’s too bad the effectiveness of advertising like this will nuke the print ad sales of great papers like the NYT and Merc, but ’tis the way of progress. At least you’ll still have blogtown.
