Did you guys know Sioux City was built on rock and roll? ‘Cause I didn’t.

Annnd… that seals the deal. So long, Portland. I think we can both agree that you kind of suck in comparison to Sioux City, a city built on fucking rock and roll. I mean, just look at their TV news reporters (always clownin’ around!) and their high school cheerleaders (so goddamn chipper!). What’ve you got, Portland? Beards and tallbikes and girls who cry whenever I point out that Joanna Newsom sounds like a drunk, helium-filled munchkin. Whatever, Portland. You probably don’t even like it when Marconi plays the mamba.

  1. Abominable hot and humid in summer, abysmal cold and snowy in winter (don’t have a car w/o a plug in engine heater), an airport that SUX (yes…that’s the code for Sioux City airport) and it’s in Iowa, land of uncommon scents. been there, done that, got the parka. Go, with my blessings.

  2. THANK YOU!!! i’m not sure what is worse.. joanna newsom’s voice or the fact that i now have pen caps permanently stuck in my earholes from trying to hide my disdain from my boss. damn this ecomony and these unsavory work environments that you have created!!!!

  3. Sioux City is a great place to live! Lots of entertainment and people who aren’t afraid to have a little fun (obviously)!

  4. As a person who has lived in Sioux City for a majority of his life and now owns a house in Beaverton, I totally support the idea that Sioux City has LOTS of entertainment and is a great place to live and raise children. Sioux City has so much more to offer than Portland! So YES, as someone who has lived in BOTH Portland AND Sioux City, I can officially agree with the original poster and say that Portland does suck in comparison to Sioux City!!

Saturday in the Park, Rivercade Festival, all the other area attractions in Sioux City give Portland a lot to learn from.

Go Sioux City, long live Sioux City!
