This has been around for a bit, but when I finally saw that this Adam Sandler trailer was not accompanied by the usual “In Your Face With How Much I Look Like An Untoasted Piece Of Off-Brand Bread!”promo art, I immediately entertained what Sandler might be up to.
In my mind, there was only one option because Sandler has never had a believable interaction with a woman on screen in the entirely of his catalog. His endless pantomime as a piece of soggy toast is his humor. He doesn’t really do chemistry. I admit, I didn’t think I was right but I felt interested in who was going to ruin their career by trying to duel fog horns with him.
But we’re gonna go ahead with it! Adam Sandler is really set to play his own sister.For some this is art. For Sandler it’s probably a symptom of something else.

Punch-Drunk Love did have a few great scenes with Philip Seymour Hoffman and some bright flashy colors. I’ll give you that.

I love watching well known celebrities try and do drag. Somehow, those of us who actually transition get called names, harassed, and even killed for crossing gender norms. Adam Sandler just gets paid a few million to do it.
