getcrafty.com

A New York-based website dedicated to "making art out of everyday life," getcrafty posts new features about craft, thrift, cooking, and living artfully every few weeks. The current headliner is "Bending Artifice: Plastic Fashion," originally featured in Chicago's TENbyTEN mag. Seven artists contribute to the spread of wearable plastic art, including a green jacket fashioned from a garbage bag, an elegant dress made from a shower curtain and parachute nylon, and a white mesh knitted plastic backpack.

Interested in making your own art with Pringles cans, sewing vinyl, or finding a use for old candles? Consult glitter, their excellent message board that answers any and all craft questions. There are extensive archives, too; find out how other artists worked it out last month, or last year.
