The problem with cyclists is that we know too much. Looking for fast routes on back streets, we discover the city's dirty laundry—which dumpsters are packed with still-warm pizza, which homeowners abandon their fruit trees, which graveyards are perfect for illicit midnight parties. Some cycle secrets lead to health problems, some lead to legal problems. But coming off a year where headlines declared bikers a radical splinter cell at war with cars, and pro-bike legislators in Salem battled an image of cyclists as a "small, privileged" group, we're throwing the book open on our "cycle secrets," clearing up misconceptions and revealing our tricks once and for all. Angry drivers and rural politicians, we welcome you. We have some totally edible pizza to share. - EDITED BY SARAH MIRK
