"I only read legitimate news," says Squires. "I really don't read blogs. A blog is a blog, and that's not news."

She sure knows how to cultivate those reporter relationships. Man, what a savvy operator!

Yeah I was about to say about the same thing. If that's her idea of effective media I have no idea why anyone would pay her to represent them. If you don't engage bloggers in the new media you'll get killed. Hell...someday they may be the only people out there.

Good for Squires. This is a bullshit story and a very obvious intentional smear campaign by a lazy blogger that didn't work.

So wait a second. I know the O did a story on this last week, but I am not satisfied. Just how many legislators has Ted K mustered into civil service positions over the past eight years? The first I can remember is Max Williams, a smart Republican lawyer in the house who was deeded the DOC after some wheeler-dealer stuff in a Salem session - this in what, early 2004? What did Max, a smart guy, know about running a prison system? Nothing.

This is Galizio's story to deny. The person he may have betrayed is Shane Lundgren of Dutch Pacific. Ask Lundgren for a quote. Move up the food chain.

I'd also add that, in my opinion, Carla Axtman is a blogger desperately seeking attention who'll clearly go to any means to get her name into the limelight. Blue Oregon should go back to their roots as a progressive, newsworthly blog and get rid of the lightweights like Axtman. Starting a cat fight is not exactly progressive. Think she'd accuse a male lobbyist of gossip? I highly doubt it. Blue Oregon should rid themselves of this sexist idiot.

That attitude toward the emerging netroots media won't win her many friends in the 18-30 demographic.

And it won't help long-term as the form becomes more and more relevant.

Oh, and I would highly recommend reading this missive on the situation, which encompasses shield laws and lawsuits: http://horsesass.org/?p=19553
8
Carla Axtman is a troll. She does more harm than good to the progressive agenda.
9
Yeah...since Carla has started blogging at blueoregon I barely check the thing anymore. She posts pretty much just anything. I'm really sort of surprised when I go over there and don't see something about what she ate for breakfast and how it relates to her friendship with Barack.

That being said...most lobbyists are slime.

Carla had no problem with smear stories when she was helping Jeff Merkley astroturf Steve Novick in last year's primaries.

Please wait...
