Le Happy, 1011 NW 16th--The venerable Westside staple of queer nights is Le Happy's low-key, board game friendly drink-a-thon. There's always good music, great food, and lovely libations. Plus the long tables make for truly Euro communal style seating, which is great for passing notes on napkins.
Aalto Lounge, 3356 SE Belmont--The ornery Eastside upstart is now publicizing Monday nights as pretty darn queer. Although this gay owned and operated outfit usually has at least a few Gamma-Alpha-Yankees in its midst, Mondays are now ALL GAY, ALL NIGHT. Come early and try the yummy treats on their eclectic new menu.
Tuesday
Taint @ Goodfoot, 2845 SE Stark--Taint has moved locations, but kept its event anchored on Tuesday Night. At this writing the wacky kids of Taint are throwing it down every 1st and 3rd Tuesday, mixing wild music and very interesting folks, making for a unique party experience that's more dance party than hobnob-snobbery. So wear comfy shoes and get ready to shake.
Wednesday
Movement @ Holocene, 1011 SE Morrison--It's a GAY sweaty dance party every 1st and 3rd Wednesday. Look for hot DJs to inspire your booty quake. When Movement is hot, it's REAL HOT, but when it's not, it's still warmer than most. Plus Bridgett, the bartender-cum-goddess, makes the best damn Margarita this side of the Willamette.
Thursday
Booty @ Porky's Pub, 835 N. Lombard--Booty is the epitome of what queer night is all about. Take a shabby ramshackle dive like Porky's, throw in a heaping helping of gay bears, fairies, and mechanic dykes, couple with the juicy grooves of DJ Stormy and you have a ONE OF A KIND queer night experience. The drinks are hella cheap and now you can even take the Yellow Line MAX to transport you there.
Friday
Suicide Club @ The Dunes, 1905 NE MLK--Dunes is one of those places that never advertises, doesn't want to be written about, and seems to relish in its shroud of no signage ambiguity. But here lies one of the best dance parties to ever fuck with our heads. The space is long and narrow with just enough room to fit about 75 of the moppiest topped hipster fags and fashion whores ever assembled. The music is ALWAYS good and it's the only dance party in town that can mix Mary J. Blige with the Pixies seamlessly. U Go Boy/Girl! Next SC is scheduled for Friday December 10th.
Saturday
mobileHomo and Dyke Knight PDX usually pick up the slack on these nights, steering the queers to some divey joint for beers and ass-grabbin'. Make them your Friendster and find out where the party is.
Sunday
Tart @ Holocene, 1001 SE Morrison--Held the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, it's one of the rare GAY GIRL dance parties. It's an early one though... starting at 4 pm and running until about 9 pm... just in time for the ladies to get home, make herbal tea, and snuggle with their kitties.
Jack--Queer as F**k @ Doug Fir, 830 E Burnside--On the flipside is Jack--Queer as F**k every 2nd and 4th Sunday. With rotating DJs and what looks to be a clear mission of inclusion, they are calling all kinds of "trannies, fags, dykes, homos, pansies, and queers" to come back that ass up at the newest swank spot on E-Bu.
