Angela Cash’s new photo series “Insomnia” opens tomorrow at Pushdot Studios (1020 SE Caruthers) with a reception from 6-9pm. These well-composed portraits capture the quiet, persistent restlessness of sleepless nights in vivid detail. Much like her series “Waiting”, Cash’s new photographs are beautifully lit, managing to feel both comfortingly soft and strikingly forlorn. And, well, kind of funny too. That is, if a bathrobed person standing on a freeway overpass because they can’t sleep, is as absurdly hilarious to you as it is to me.
