Artist/technologist Natalie Jeremijenko is a serious badass, and she's speaking tonight at 7:30 pm for PSU's MFA Monday Night Lecture Series (free to all!).

Equal parts artist and engineer, Jeremijenko cross pollinates between activism and technology, often focusing on environmental awareness: Jeremijenko's Environmental Health Clinic at NYU attempts to correct a "patient's" relationship with the natural world via untraditional, action-based "prescriptions"; "Feral Robots" uses hacked robotic dogs to detect radioactive contaminants; and her exhibit at the Neuberger Museum (which concluded yesterday) included a "grassroots map of the BP oil spill," items from the artist's Bureau of Inverse Technologies, and more lighthearted offerings, such as an "edible gallery guide."

If you're interested in intersections between art and technology (or art and environmental activism), I highly recommend attending. Jeremijenko will speak about her work in the Shattuck Hall Annex, 1914 SW Park Ave, Room 198.
