Storytelling series Back Fence PDX takes over the Mission tonight, with seven local “personalities” telling true, unrehearsed stories on the night’s theme (“The Moment After”). Tonight’s speakers include Jeff Baker, Books Editor at the Oregonian; the very funny Jordi Barnes, of sketch comedy troupe the 3rd Floor; 2-time National Poetry slam champion Anis Mojgani; aaand, joining the ranks of Mercury employees charmed by Melissa and Frayn, Back Fence’s irresistible organizers, into stepping outside the confines of print for the uncomfortably uneditable experience of public speaking, it’s… Ezra Ace Caraeff, Music Editor of the Portland Mercury. We’ve all encouraged him to bring Olive the Pug in order to up his likability factor; no word on whether he’ll be taking that good advice. Advance tickets here. 7 pm. Seeya there.

Alison Hallett served nobly as the Mercury's arts editor from 2008-2014. Her proud legacy lives on.
