Wait… what’s today… THURSDAY? Holy mother of crap, you’re totally running out of time to submit your entry to the Mercury’s Easter Coloring Contest! It’s the only local newspaper coloring contest approved by the Son of God himself—plus if you win, your work will be printed on the cover of the Mercury’s April 9 Easter issue, AND you’ll win $200 cash dope money! (Roughly 30 pieces of silver in today’s economy.) BUT YOU GOTTA COLOR FAST, FAST, FAST! DEADLINE IS TOMORROW, FRIDAY APRIL 3 AT 5 PM!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS!

• Download a high-res copy of our upcoming cover by clicking here.

• Print it out, and color the shit out of it. Use whatever medium you like, including crayons, acrylics, watercolors, chalk, the sacrificial blood of our Lord Jesus Christ… WE DON’T CARE! (Okay, maybe not snot, urine, or poop.)

• Stick your 8×10″ cover (flat, not folded) in a 8×10″ envelope and drop it by the Portland Mercury offices (605 NE 21st Ave, Suite 200) by 5 pm tomorrow!

• If you’re a techno-nerd, you can also send a high-resolution digital file (300 dpi) to artdirector@portlandmercury.com or send it to our flickr group www.flickr.com/groups/portlandmercury

• Don’t forget! This competition is open to ALL AGES!

• Did I say to HURRY??

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)
