Woah. I am one of the many women in Portland who frequently rides a bicycle in heels (the issue is really whether the shoes can take it, not the rider, am I right?), but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pair of high heels made specifically for biking. But Jeff Mandel of ExIT Shoes just alerted me to one of his recent creations:

You can read what he has to say about it here, and he definitely deserves props for making high heels, which is much harder to do than you might expect. I’m curious if other bike-y girls would be into these. The point of biking in heels, at least for me, is not having to bother changing your shoes every time you get on and off a bike. Would you keep wearing these once you reached your destination? (PS: Mandel says he’s planning on producing these in different colors, and considering a knee-high boot version as well.)

  1. Those are the ugliest shoes I’ve seen in a long long long time, and I would NEVER wear them.

I’m not even cute.. I’m short, dumpy, and old, and COULD get away with those if I wanted. Cheesus, sooooooooo ugly.
