We live in an era where every day seems to last as long as a month, and where things that happened two weeks ago—even good things—seem like they went down in 2017.

Well, one of those good things—Ben Bui’s Short Round, which we reviewed last fall—has, indeed, celebrated a milestone: It turned one year old yesterday and it’s throwing itself—and you—a weekend-long birthday bash.

What’s that have to do you? To ring in its first full year of offering Vietnamese drinking snacks—think oysters, fish sauce wings, soy sauce goeduck, and balut—Bui is offering three days of specials that entitle everyone who drops in to $5 bánh mìs and $5 frozen margaritas and Blue Hawaiis.

So if you’re looking for a cool place to beat the weekend heat where you can get sloshy on some slushies while snacking on treats prepared by Bui’s mother, Lauren Huynh, and Jinnie Song, his mother-in-law, those specials are offered from noon on Friday, July 20, to midnight on Sunday night.
