After learning of Gov. Kate Brown's "Stay at Home" executive order that puts strict restrictions on outdoor recreation in the state, one might be tempted to wonder, "Well... what CAN I do?" Portland Parks & Recreation (PPR) issued a release to answer that very question, going into detail about what is and is not currently allowed in Portland's public parks.

According to PPR, all Portland-based "playgrounds, outdoor sports courts and fields (including, but not limited to, basketball courts, skateparks, tennis courts, soccer fields) are CLOSED and should be avoided."

However, the ban does allow activities such as walking, biking, hiking, and running in "parks and natural areas, trails, community gardens, and golf courses"ā€”as long as the six foot distance rule is adhered to.

Portland's community centers, pools, and arts and tennis centers have already been temporarily shuttered. The following need-to-know locations are also closed until further notice:

Hoyt Arboretum Visitor Center
Saturday Market
Oregon Zoo
International Rose Test Garden Gift Shop
Washington Parkā€™s Cultural Institutions
Portland Childrenā€™s MuseumĀ
Portland Japanese Garden
World Forestry Center & Discovery Museum
Lan Su Chinese Garden

And if you do go out with others, it should only be with members of your immediate household while maintaining a safe six-foot distance from others, as ordered by Brown.
