Dogheart (Cassette Release) + Charts + Times Infinity + Small Things Go (Solo)
Portland indie rock band Dogheart’s recent release reminds me of an Alexander Calder sculpture: the artwork for Balanced in the Void depicts chunky blocks of color that evoke both motion and stillness. In a way, the music does too, with some jangly, energetic tunes and other meandering, reflective tracks. To celebrate their new album—and more than a decade together as a band—Dogheart plays a cassette release show at the Swan Dive with support from surfy rock ‘n’ roll band Charts and dreamy garage rockers Times Infinity. Get there early for a special solo set from Jason Nichols’ contemplative, alternative pop-rock project Small Things Go. SL
