Governor's Office

Yesterday the Oregon Health Authority announced that our state broke its single day record for positive COVID-19 infections, with 805 new cases—over 200 more than our previous record, set last week. This onslaught of new infections has driven up the state's average to 578 new cases per week, a stunning 159 percent jump since early September. Active hospitalizations are also at an all-time high, and deaths from the virus have been rising as well.

Today at 1 pm, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown will address the press on the state's attempts to control the coronavirus outbreak. It's possible Brown could also announce new methods or requirements for safety on top of the ones already put in place. Brown will be joined by representatives of the Oregon Health Authority.
