Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome
Possibly the funniest book ever written about the Thames, Three Men in a Boat and Three Men on the Bummel served as the inspiration for Connie Willis’ witty time travel/alternate history novel To Say Nothing of the Dog. Fans of Douglas Adams, Caroline Stevermere, and Agatha Christie will giggle themselves anglo reading this book.

Why… I recognize that byline! Congrats, Kiala.

Alison Hallett served nobly as the Mercury's arts editor from 2008-2014. Her proud legacy lives on.

  1. 3 points:

    1) Every time I read anything Kiala writes I desperately pray that a nefarious series of typos has changed her name to “Koala Krazybee.”

    2) I truly appreciate that Kiala wrote an article on io9 that was not focused on shitty “cult” television shows and/or vampires.

    3) “Giggle themselves anglo” just supplanted Tekken 6 as my new favorite thing.
