The Jimtown Store Cookbook demonstration
A bunch of Portland’s best restaurants have come together with Powell’s in order to bring the authors of this book to the Farmer’s Market. Carrie Brown and John Werner run the Jimtown Store in Northern California, where they serve dishes such as Petaluma Duck Burgers and Apricot Butter-Rum Upside Down Cake. Spare Room is a recently invented, semi-regular reading group, who focuses on innovative writing. Salzman is a local poet, who will be reading from her chapbook, Hemopiesis, which was published by Persian Pony Press in 1995. Stroffolino is an English teacher at St. Mary’s College, and has written two books of poetry, Stealer’s Wheel and Oops. Ralph has taught at a number of places, and is also a poet.
