Tin House is hosting readings at Reed College’s Cerf ampitheater all week, as part of their summer writer’s workshop.

Last night, Aimee Bender, Walter Kirn, and Steve Almond read–I saw Steve Almond at Booty Call on Sunday, and while I’m guessing his Tin House reading didn’t involve audience members chanting “anal sex! anal sex!” (or me, shouting “skullfucking! I mean, skull lovemaking!”), I assume it was good nonetheless?

Tonight’s Tin House lineup is, I think, even better: Andrea Barrett, Nick Flynn, Charles D’Ambrosio. For $5. Outside. On a beautiful evening. (Starts at 8 pm.)

Check the rest of the week’s readings here.

Alison Hallett served nobly as the Mercury's arts editor from 2008-2014. Her proud legacy lives on.
