I know this is the wrong forum for this—and it’s not even Cat Friday™ yet—but it’s freezing outside and this kitten needs a home.

This tender ball of adorableness appeared on our porch last night—we think it had been living under our shed—and while clearly a stray, it’s definitely not feral. In fact, it’s probably the most affectionate kitten I have seen in my life. There is nothing in the world we’d rather do than adopt this creature, but we’re already at pet critical mass in our home. If you are interested, let me know.

More not-so-great cell phone photos after the jump.

***Update: The very kind folks at the Cat Adoption Team looked at the photos and say this kitten is a “Dilute Calico” breed, about 4-5 months old, and about 98% likely to be a female.

***Update #2: We have found a home for this kitten!! Thanks so much, April!!!

  1. Did it occur to you that this might be one of your neighbors cats? Just show a picture around in a two block radious. Feral cats are not friendly.

  3. Yes, it did occur to us. But we have few neighboring houses and none that we contacted were aware of the cat. Plus, we believe we saw this very kitten under our shed a few weeks back.

  4. Take the kitty to the vet to check for a microchip. Without a microchip, and with anecdotal evidence that it’s stray, you should be in the clear.

  5. On one hand, that is a great looking cat, and I have been thinking about getting one. On the other hand, man, kittens. All biting my face in my sleep and chewing through headphone cords.

  6. I don’t think you people are really understanding the subtext of Ezra’s post, because you don’t know him very well. So let me spell it out for you: If you do not claim this kitten by 5 pm today, Ezra will strangle it. A microchip won’t be of much help then, will it?

  7. @Steve: I have the mental picture of Ezra strangling the cat, masturbating and crying; all at the same time. That’s the Ezra we all know and love.
