I know Chuck Schultz should have ended the strip long before he did and probably overrated but I love Peanuts. It was a huge part of my childhood, from the Halloween TV special to the read-along cassette tapes. I nearly shat myself when I saw the Fantagraphics books — I didn’t know about them until a couple years after they started publishing them.
I never really noticed that before, even on one of my favorite strips that has a Bob Dylan reference (30th birthday!) it ends on a depressing note:
